The formula

MemoHoney Ingredients List: Seven Amounts per Capsule

Quick answer

MemoHoney capsules list seven ingredient lines, and every amount is printed.

L-arginine 200 mg, L-arginine AKG 200 mg, L-citrulline HCl 100 mg, L-citrulline malate 100 mg, beta-alanine 40 mg, niacin 7.5 mg NE and calcium 18 mg. The amino acids are mainly studied for blood flow and exercise (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements).

Next, see how the formula is meant to work.

At a glance

What ingredients are in MemoHoney?

One MemoHoney capsule holds five amino acid lines, one B vitamin and a little calcium. Each of the seven has its own printed amount, so nothing is tucked inside a blend.

Added up, that is 400 mg of arginine ingredients and 200 mg of citrulline ingredients per capsule. Niacin gives 47% of the Daily Value.

The bottle reads "Advanced Memory Support*", the brand's own claim. The typed-out panel is on the Supplement Facts page.

Brand graphic titled Inside MemoHoney: three bottles on a gold stand with honeycomb and six ingredient tiles
The brand graphic shows six tiles; calcium, the seventh label line, is left off. The honeycomb is decoration, not an ingredient.

The name

Why is there no honey on the MemoHoney ingredient list?

Honey is not on any line of the label, active or inactive. The name and the honeycomb artwork are branding, nothing more.

The honeycomb in the brand graphic has no amount next to it. More in does MemoHoney contain honey?

Dose check

How do MemoHoney's amounts compare with research doses?

Far lower for the three amino acids. Niacin is the one line close to a daily target.

Every MemoHoney ingredient with its printed amount, next to what research used.
IngredientListedPer capsuleAmount used in researchEvidence
Niacin1 of 77.5 mg NE (47% DV)Adults need 14-16 mg NE a day; upper limit for supplements 35 mg (NIH ODS, Niacin)Needed nutrient; no memory data
Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate)2 of 718 mg (1.5% DV)A trace amount next to the 1,300 mg Daily Value Trace amount
L-Arginine (base)3 of 7200 mg2-20 g a day in exercise studies; no memory use listed (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements) (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine)No memory evidence
L-Arginine AKG 2:1 Extract4 of 7200 mgPart arginine, part alpha-ketoglutarate (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements) (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine)No memory evidence
L-Citrulline HCl5 of 7100 mg3-8 g in exercise studies; weak support (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)No memory evidence
L-Citrulline Malate6 of 7100 mg8 g in one weightlifting study (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)No memory evidence
Beta Alanine7 of 740 mg1.6-6.4 g a day for up to 8 weeks in exercise studies (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)No memory evidence

One capsule gives about one-fifth of the lowest arginine dose studied. It gives one-fifteenth of the lowest citrulline dose and one-fortieth of the lowest beta-alanine dose (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements). Those studies were about exercise. Niacin is different: 7.5 mg NE is about half of what adults need each day (NIH ODS, Niacin).

Salt forms

Why does MemoHoney list two forms of arginine and two of citrulline?

The label does not say why, and we have not seen the maker's reason in writing.

200 mg + 200 mg

Arginine: base and AKG 2:1

The base form is plain L-arginine. The AKG form pairs arginine with alpha-ketoglutarate, so real arginine is somewhat less than 400 mg. See L-arginine and AKG.

100 mg + 100 mg

Citrulline: HCl and malate

One form is a hydrochloride salt. The other pairs citrulline with malic acid. Each salt adds weight that is not citrulline. See L-citrulline HCl and malate.

Research

What is each MemoHoney ingredient usually studied for?

Blood flow and exercise for the amino acids; basic nutrition for niacin.

Arginine and citrulline

Nitric oxide and blood flow

The body makes nitric oxide from arginine, and it turns citrulline into arginine. Mayo Clinic lists heart and circulation uses for arginine, and no memory use (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine).

Beta-alanine

High-intensity exercise

Studied at 1.6-6.4 g a day for hard, short efforts. The results are mixed (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements).

Niacin

A daily B vitamin

A severe shortage causes memory loss among other signs. Extra niacin helps only in that setting (NIH ODS, Niacin).

Why workout ingredients in a memory product?

The sales page ties the formula to blood flow to the brain. Yet grams of arginine typically did not raise nitric oxide in exercise studies (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements). Research on these amino acids and memory is mostly in animals or early.

The rest of the capsule

What else is in a MemoHoney capsule?

A small dose of calcium and three inactive ingredients. None of them is honey or gelatin.

Calcium: 18 mg, a trace amount

Calcium comes as calcium carbonate, 18 mg per capsule, or 1.5% of the Daily Value. That is too little to change most people's intake.

Other ingredients

MemoHoney other ingredients, as printed, with what each one does
Hypromellose (vegetable capsule)The capsule shell, made from plant cellulose
Vegetable stearateHelps the powder flow when capsules are filled
Silicon dioxideKeeps the powder from clumping

Safety

Are the MemoHoney ingredients safe to take together?

The amounts sit well below the doses tied to side effects in research. The real caution is arginine, which interacts with several common medicines (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine).

Ask a doctor or pharmacist first

Arginine is not advised after a recent heart attack. It can interact with blood pressure medicine, nitrates, sildenafil, blood thinners, diabetes medicine and potassium-sparing water pills. Keep taking your prescribed medicine while you ask.

Our take

MemoHoney ingredients review: strengths and gaps

Strengths

  • All seven amounts on the panel
  • A plant-based capsule shell
  • Niacin near half a day's need
  • Far under tingling and flushing levels

Gaps

  • No honey, whatever the name suggests
  • No memory use listed for the amino acids
  • Amino acids at a fraction of research doses
  • The two-form split is never explained

FAQ

MemoHoney ingredients FAQ

What are the ingredients in MemoHoney?

Each capsule lists L-arginine 200 mg, L-arginine AKG 200 mg, L-citrulline HCl 100 mg, L-citrulline malate 100 mg, beta-alanine 40 mg, niacin 7.5 mg NE and calcium 18 mg. The other ingredients are hypromellose, vegetable stearate and silicon dioxide. No honey appears on either list.

Why does a memory supplement contain workout ingredients?

The label does not explain it. The sales page links the formula to blood flow to the brain. Arginine, citrulline and beta-alanine are mainly studied for exercise (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements). Mayo Clinic lists no memory use for arginine (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine), so treat the memory angle as the brand's claim.

Does MemoHoney have a proprietary blend?

No. Each of the seven lines has its own amount per capsule. A proprietary blend shows only one total weight for a group. With MemoHoney you can check every line against research doses, which is a real point in its favor.

Does MemoHoney contain any allergens?

The label prints no allergen statement. Brand badges say gluten free and dairy free, but no certifier is named. If you have a serious allergy, call +1 (302) 200-3480 and ask about the capsule contents before you order.

Is the MemoHoney capsule vegetarian?

The label lists hypromellose, a plant-based capsule, and no gelatin. A brand badge also says vegetarian. No certifier is named, so the hypromellose line on the label is the firmest proof you have.

Are MemoHoney's ingredient amounts the same as in studies?

No. Exercise studies used grams a day: 2-20 g of arginine, 3-8 g of citrulline and 1.6-6.4 g of beta-alanine (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements). One capsule holds milligrams. Only niacin, at about half the daily need, comes close to a nutrition target.
